Locksmiths in Cardiff win Lock Opening Competition

Mete Hilmi of Mr Locks Locksmiths in Cardiff South Wales is awarded the coveted Master Locksmiths Association Annual Lock Opening Champions shield for 2014. This contest is designed to test the lock opening skills of Master locksmiths throughout the South and West of the country, and the winner is the contestant that is able to open the most locks in a 10 minute time slot. These consisted of lock cylinders, padlocks, cabinet locks and mortise locks, with a mechanical code lock thrown in for good measure. This year was a particularly close contest with Nigel Tolley of Discreet security Solutions, coming a close runner up. Martin West of Avon Security in Amesbury also deserves a mention for winning the shield on several previous occasions. Would also like to thank SKS for sponsoring this year’s competition. We now look forward to next year’s competition with great anticipation, but for 2014 at least, the MLA Lock Picking Champions Shield resides in Cardiff South Wales at Mr Locks Locksmiths.Mete-Hilmi-Mr-Locks-Locksmith-Cardiff-Lock-Opening-Champion

Consumer Advice for picking a Cardiff Locksmith

Below Mr Locks Locksmiths have listed some useful consumer tips to help customers find and choose a local Cardiff Locksmith in the Cardiff & South Wales area. We have all seen the TV programmes about the companies that do not have a good reputation, but there are also some very good companies that work very hard to provide a first class service to their customers.

Follow our consumer tips on “How To Choose a Locksmith in Cardiff”, and you should have a positive experience with your Locksmith.

Consumer Tips Choosing a Locksmith

Make sure that the company is a member of the Master Locksmiths Association or an equivalent bonafided locksmith body.

Make sure they really are local!
Some national companies will use contractors that are not trained or vetted to high standards.

Do ask for a quote first. Hourly rates can soon add up! An experienced and competent locksmith will be able to diagnose your problem by speaking with you on the phone, and should be able to give an accurate indication of cost (Including labour & parts).

Make sure that the company can do the work in one visit, its pointless coming and opening a broken lock on your door, and not having the correct lock on the van to replace it with, a second visit will cost more!

Make sure that the work is guaranteed and that this is stated on your receipt. If there is a problem at a later date its reassuring to know that your local locksmith will be happy to return and resolve it for you.

Or you can just contact us, Locksmiths Cardiff, we are MLA approved master locksmiths, We are polite and helpful, we turn up when agreed, and we finish the job properly in one visit, not too much to ask is it?

Call us free on 0800 083 2882.

Mobile users can also call us on 07976 961473. Rest assured we wont let you down!
